Moved to Beantown not too long ago and have a 4x2 SUV (I know I know) and was wondering about snow tires here. A few people I talked to swear by snow tires but a few other ones suggest to get all season ones instead. From a practicality point of view it'd be hard to have snow tires b/c we wouldn't be able to keep the old ones (I guess u can get some trade in value?) so I really would like to know if snow ts are a must.

All season tires are garbage in the snow. Get a second set of cheap rims and put snow tires on them. Then just do a seasonal swap with your two sets of rims and tires. Also, some tire shops will swap your summer tires and snow tires on your one set of rims for free, and even store the tires that you are using.
