Having lived in both the cities mentioned, I can see your point - at least with respect to Boston. I don't think Bostonians are particularly aloof or unfriendly at all, certainly not any more so that people in Pittsburgh or New York or New Orleans, etc. This new "check out line" urban legend kills me the most. I strike up conversations with people in check out lines all the time and not once has McLean been called

Pittburgh's weather, OTOH, is every bit as problematic as you say locals say it is. Basically, it's unrelentingly hot and humid for most of the summer and the sun never shines from mid-November to early April.

I disagree, rranger. It can be warm and humid in the summer (but then, less so than most places in the East and Midwest) and winter can be overcast, but lots of blues skies sprinkled in. I enjoy the weather in Pittsburgh!

And now back to our regularly scheduled Boston thread...
