Default Help ASAP re: good hotel in Boston

In advance of my with the goal of looking at homes for relocation, wife is going out Saturday ahead of me - a few days ahead to look at real estate.

I am thinking her staying in Boston itself would be great as well. How do the following locations sound in this regard?

-> Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers - 50 Park Plaza at Arlington Street

-> Bullfinch Hotel - 107 Merrimac St

thanks in advance!!!!

There's also the Marriott Long Wharf - right near Faneuil Hall, and the aquarium. There's also the trolley stops near.

You didn't mention what your budget is, but I prefer the Marriott at Copley and the Westin at Copley in the Back Bay and the Langham in the financial district to either of the hotels you mentioned.

I concur that Copley/Back Bay is an ideal place to stay. I always recommend Boston visitors try to find a deal on a 4 star hotel at hotwire.com

I've recently stayed at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel in South Boston and it was a WONDERFUL stay with a large room, incredible bathroom and water views.

If your trip is solid, hotwire is great. I've run into trouble only when I had to cancel the trip for work reasons. Hotwire won't refund and work demurred on reimbursement. Otherwise, never a problem.

As people have suggested, I'd go with the Back Bay/Copley hotel, though the Quincy Market area isn't bad either. That may well be the Marriott at Long Wharf, which is a nice location.

Yeah, please, please, PLEASE consider hotwire. My girlfriend and I are having a "night out" tonight (away from roomates) and are staying at Parker House for $80. Leaps and bounds better than what you'd pay on orbitz and any other source.

The good news with Hotwire is that the closer you wait until the last minute (i.e. tomorrow night), the cheaper it gets. Hotwire has deals with area hotels to sell unfilled hotel rooms at below advertised prices so the hotels don't have empty rooms.

Because of this little deal, your search will reveal a list of rates and star ratings (i.e. 1-5 stars) in a particular neighborhood, but NO hotel names (again,the rates are below what the hotels advertise, thus, they can't show the name until AFTER the purchase is made) are shown. In a city like Boston that is so compact and so public transit oriented, this is perfect as entire neighborhoods are fine. When you use hotwire in Boston anywhere in the Faneuil Hall, Financial District, Theatre District, Copley Square, Back Bay, or Beacon Hill neighborhoods will be safe to extremely safe. THey'll also put you in a good place to use public transit. 3-4 and 5 star hotels will be very good. Common hotels that Hotwire uses are the Marriott (both Long Wharf and Custom House), Sheraton, Radisson, Lenox, etc. Even 2 star hotels in these areas are fine.

I just did a quick search and THIS is what I found. 4+ star hotels downtown and in the back bay for under $120. 3 Stars for under $80. You won't find deals like this even on the hotel's main site. Trust the star ratings and neighborhoods on hotwire. For Boston, they work.
