Default Looking to find housing near Bunker Hill Commuinty College. please help!

I will be attending BHCC starting this fall and I am unsure about where to live since I am not from Mass. I will most likely be relying on the T. I am a 32 year-old looking to find a room in an apartment. I don't have too much to spend each month on a room ($650 max/mo). Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

thanks for the input, tooldude. are there any other areas that you'd recommend (in case I can't find a place in charlestown). Thanks again!

Life will be easier if you stay on the Orange line of the T since that's the one that goes to BHCC. If not Charlestown, then perhaps Malden. Malden is a town outside of Boston and is fairly residential. You'd want to live near the T or near a bus that will take you to the T and other amenities if you won't have a car. Rents in Malden are going to be cheaper than Charlestown, but there is an Orange Line T that runs through the area and it's pretty quick ride to the school.

Consider the Bus as well since it will open up more options, but I like Malden and Charlestown - MBTA Subway 'The 'T' > Orange Line Subway Information, Schedules, Stops, and Maps

Check out Craigslist for roommate postings in those areas.

why BHCC at age 32? your budget is real low for this area. Also if not
from MA you pay a high price to attend. Do you have a real reason for
the why with BHCC. Cape Cod Community College is also great.
Also if you work and go to school at night your money may go further.
best of luck with college also!

I think you could find a share in East Somerville for that price, and either walk or take the bus to Sullivan Square (on the Orange Line).
