I had a bunch of friends visit from NYC last weekend -- some took the Peter Pan bus and some took Greyhound. I know Peter Pan drops off at Riverside off Rt-128 in Newton so if that location is more convenient than South Station (where practically every other bus companies drops off) then you should consider that.

Greyhound
Cheapest way is Greyhound. Use the coupon code NYBOSR on greyhound.com and the roundtrip ticket price is $31.50. It takes about 4 1/2 hours. It is def not the best way to go but it is def the cheapest!

Thanks for mentioning Peter Pan. My sister-in-law lives in NYC, and that may come in handy since we'll be living in Newton.

Not the cheapest, but you can't beat the train.

Hi Every1
I'l be in Boston for a week or so in early Feb 2008, and would love to use the ooportunity to go check out Washington DC. Does anyone know the quickest (most important) and the cheapest way to get from Boston to DC?
Thanks!

The quickest way is by Air, from either Logan Airport in Boston, or TF Green Airport (Providence, Rhode Island) Air time will be less then 1 hour.
The best airport into Washington would be Reagan. Dulles is too far away in northern Virginia. Check Airlines that fly into Reagan.
Amtrak (Train) will be cheaper. but take over 7 hours) Driving down the northeast corridor (while a total experience of the most important part of the nation culturally; Southern New England, Greater NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore) on interstate 95 is not recommended; it is hectic and can be confusing if not from the USA-plus petrol costs are high (tho cheap for you)
Boston is a wonderful city. Washington is a beautiful city and fascinating.
