Default Coal creek elem. in Lsville - parent reviews?

We are moving to Louisville in August and I have heard some negative reviews about Coal Creek Elementary regarding the new principal. I have heard that families are open-enrolling out of the school because of his leadership style. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I can either open-enroll my child in Crestview Elem in Boulder or he can attend his neighborhood school which will be Coal Creek. Any parent reviews (positive, negative or neutral) would be greatly appreciated. I didn't want to make a decision if there wasn't truth behind it.

You are getting into a hornet's nest here. I do not have kids at that school any more, but I have heard the talk. (My kids are in college and grad school, I did not take them out of CC). CC had a popular principal who had been there since the school was opened in 1985. She retired a few years back, and obviously was replaced. I have heard some negative remarks about the new prinicpal's style. However, he has not been replaced by his superiors. Prinicpals, unlike teachers, are working at "the pleasure" of the administration.

My take on it, as an educated outsider, and from previous experience with such issues, is that a few people might open-enroll their kids out for that or other reasons, but most will talk about it and do nothing. Crest View is a long drive, round trip, twice a day, if you live in the Coal Creek attendance area. I'd go with Coal Creek; if you really don't like it, you can always open enroll later.
