Hi,

What are some good areas to look for that satisfy the following:
1) $850-900 budget
2) 2 dogs (60 lbs. and 75 lbs...), mutts
3) near organic/specialty grocery stores/restaurants/farmer's markets
4) near Boulder, but probably the south or southeast, because I will have a daily commute to Golden.

Any ideas? Tried the search function, but my needs are pretty specific. Thanks!

Sorry no one has replied to your post yet...
Your requirements are difficult to meet. Unfortunately finding an apartment that will allow 2 large dogs is tough.
South Boulder (Table Mesa, Martin Acres) used to be fairly inexpensive once upon a time. But I think that time has passed.
There isn't much south/southeast of Boulder, between there and Golden. There's the community of Eldorado Springs, but I don't think there are any apartments and no organic/specialty grocery stores/restaurants/farmer's markets that I'm aware of. http://www.city-data.com/city/Eldora...-Colorado.html
The last time I drove on Hwy 93 I noticed there were some housing developments north of Golden. I am not sure but that could be part of Arvada.
Good luck in your search!

^^I think Martin Acres and some of Table Mesa is stiff relatively inexpensive. I still don't understand why the OPs don't want to live in Golden if going to Mines. I know a number of Mines students and they've all lived in Golden. It's not as "hip" as Boulder, but it's a neat place. The two big dogs is going to be a big problem. The OPs would do well to concentrate on places owned by individuals rather than management companies.

Try Boulder Creek apts or Meadow Creek - both allow dogs....for a fee of course.
