I live in Firestone and really like it. There are some major drawbacks though the first being what all of the other posters have said - property values have not increased and I know lots of people who have sold their home for less than what they paid. So, don't buy here unless you plan on staying for awhile. On the plus side, you can get some great deals out here right now.
I would also warn you about our local government. Firestone has been in the paper a lot this year for our unyielding Mayor and Board. Although that will all change (hopefully) their decisions have a had a negative impact on the schools especially. You might be better off buying in Frederick. |
