Default Initial impressions after the move (to Superior)

Hey all - we're busy unpacking and the chaos of getting everything on a new schedule, but just a few quick observations since we moved into Superior. (And the whole Boulder/Louisville/Superior area).

a) The amount of open green space and opportunities to be outdoors is amazing. Trails, paths, friendly people, happy dogs, active seniors, climbers, bikers, hikers, sunbathers, picnickers, you name it.

b) All the necessities and stores you might need are conveniently nearby.

c) Right now it's extremely green and lush.

d) It's easy to be in the urban setting one minute and in farmland the next. Watched a balloonist skimming the fields last weekend.

e) There are huge, massive mosquitoes around the lake we live near. In huge quantities, and I haven't seen a natural mosquito predator yet. Dragonflies are nowhere to be found.

f) The RTD line I've used has been clean, quick and reasonable.

g) It's a long drive to DIA. At least most of the time I'm travelling the roads are open.

h) We had more fun last weekend, as a family, going out and about then we've had in the last year.

i) As much as we love Huckleberry's in Louisville, you have to get there early on a Sunday or the wait can take you through lunch.

So there's that, so far. The apartment has a lot of small things you'd want fixed, but most here seem to be in a transition (from out of state) phase.
Still looking for local work. Wheeee.....

Thanks for posting that, qfrost. I love these "see ourselves as others see us" posts.

Nice QFrost! Glad to see you are all settled in Superior ... Maybe I should write up my own story as well.

We're still exploring, there's still lots of unpacking and such to do. And you should, Ace. I just ran into a couple with a small child who moved here from Florida a few months back. They had similar issues for moving. Small world.

Los Angeles. 22 years....22 loooonnnnng years.....if anyone you know ever suggests they want to move there, feel free to slap them. Unless, of course, they are planning to live in Malibu or Pacific Palisades. But then they could afford to escape whenever the mood strikes.

I think the large mosquitoes you are talking about are actually "mosquito hawks" they don't bite and they eat the real mosquitoes! Glad you are enjoying it here.

Thanks, although it's looking like we may not stay. Which would be very sad.

What happened? Are you talking about Boulder area in general, or your place in Superior?

If you are talking about moving out of Horizons, there are quite a few rental homes available in Superior area - just saw a couple of them on our block.
