Hey guys!

So I just accepted a job in west Longmont, but my boyfriend works near DT Denver. We're trying to find a place to live that's a happy medium for commutes. So far, we've focused in on Broomfield, Louisville and Westminster.

My question is what the commute would be like on 287 vs. 95th vs. Boulder & the Diagonal Highway? Are they all pretty packed? Is there one that's faster than the other? If you drive one of these, how long does it usually take you? How fast do you typically drive compared to the speed limit? Is there one that's better for bad weather?

The other question I have is if it would be any faster for my boyfriend to take Federal to Colfax to DT instead of I-25?

Also, I know someone who takes the bus every day from Boulder to Denver and although it takes longer, its much less stressful. Is there any public transit option for my commute to Longmont? And what do you think of the ride into Denver?

Thanks!

We live in s.w. Longmont and my husband did a contract job a couple of years ago that was downtown Denver. He took RTD every day.

There is an RTD run that is a straight shot with no stops. It was only marginally longer for him to do that than if he was driving - but no stress. He'd read the whole time. Mostly all business people.

Not sure where you are working, but doing the reverse might be harder to get get to your final destination once you hit Longmont though.

Not necessarily, yours may be slightly worse. WHERE downtown? That makes a difference. Any exit south of 20th or Speer will take longer than you expect. Generally, no, on Colfax. Also, he has the option of using the toll lane on 25.

287, Arapahoe, etc. etc. are all packed but doable during rush but nothing is fast as there are many travleing along these thoroughfares during the rush.

I've lived in northern Broomfield and Westminster and commuted to downtown without too much issue, via Park Ave. It depends on what time during rush hour, however... it could take him 25 minutes... it could take him 45 min.

Where in Longmont?

From northern Broomfield it can take 30 min to get to central Longmont via 287.
