Well now, davebarnes, that's not very friendly.

Think tires. Think antifreeze. Think brakes. Think emergency supplies. Think about whether you will want to go into the mountains for skiing. Think about "turning in the direction of the skid." Here's a good basic outline.

HowStuffWorks "Top 10 Car Winterizing Tips"

It's not so terrifying, though you might even consider some kind of winter driving course. Then you'll be prepared even though lots of other yahoos are speeding along with no understanding of the risks they pose to themselves and others.

If you're lucky, it will all melt within a day or so when the sun comes out!

Here is a start, others can add as needed

Antifreeze in radiator coolant
Antifreeze in windshield washer reservoir
Snowbrush
Ice scraper
Proper "weight" of engine oil ; ie, 10w-30 or other as req'd
Proper tires depending on what roads you will be normally driving on. And whether your veicle is AWD, or FWD or 4x4 etc(Lots of threads devoted to this issue) (FWIW I always did just fine with M+S rated tires on a FWD car on paved roads in town. YMMV

Again, depending on where you drive (mountain back roads ?), a "survival kit" with things like
bag of sand, snow shovel, water, food, blanket, matches, etc

I seriously think I am going to do a winter driving class. We are moving in November, actually driving the moving van up then, ... bad timing, huh? Are the possibilities for snowy weather pretty positive for that time of year?

No, you didn't say Boulder, but the thread is about moving to Boulder, and you did say "It snows EVERY month in Colorado."
