Hello group,

I know Boulder is a big tech hub, but is there a strong demand for mental health professionals in the area?

Thanks in advance.

It seems like the Boulder area is over-saturated with mental health professionals. Do you have a particular area of expertise?
See this list (and this is just one source) https://therapists.psychologytoday.c...O/Boulder.html

Thanks for the feedback: indeed it does! That's quite a list.

I'm soon to graduate, and I plan to specialize in working with children in play therapy, as well as work with adolescents. Substance abuse is another possibility. In one source I found, the state of Colorado is listed as having one of the greatest needs for substance abuse counselors, though I'm not sure if that applies to the Boulder area specifically.

It maybe over-saturated but try getting an appointment with someone in under 6 months! They are hugely over-subscribed.

Colorado has an over supply of mental health professionals, and that keeps the pay low. It's tough to make it here with a low paying job with the high COL.
