I have heard our neighborhood called this before. Some don't know, but the homes south of 117th and west of Wolf are also in our HOA. They look different because it was a different builder. They are your typical home style with a larger variety of colors.

My wife calls Bradburn "Stepford village" As a fan of the Fighting Illini, I do like seeing the variety of Big Ten flags in Bradburn. Reminds me of the suburb of Chicago I used to live in...

I think it's both, but I think the design of Bradburn has the biggest impact. It both attracts naturally social people and encourages a lot of neighborhood interaction. Even without our events everyone would still get to know each other because people are always outside on their porches or walking somewhere in the neighborhood and they just run into each other naturally.

I've been to quite a few other new urbanist neighborhoods around the US and have spoken to people living in each one and they have all said they have a strong sense of community like Bradburn does, which inclines me to think the design really does make a difference.
