I have been living in and loving New Orleans for over seven years now, and have been a part of the rebuilding over the past few years. It has been a difficult yet rewarding experience, but now I am ready to move out west and start fresh.

Boulder has everything I want right now, except for one crucial ingredient.

I am having trouble finding a job. I am a bright business graduate with experience in marketing, branding, and PR within the high-end cuisine and culture industries. I would love to work with food and wine/ the arts in Boulder, but of course am open to other avenues.

Any suggestions of companies to apply to, or job sites to browse besides craigslist and monster? I would appreciate any suggestions!

hi neighbor!! im from and live in biloxi,ms. we are planning to move to boulder this fall, so ive been cruising this website as well as others for a couple of months now. what i have learned is that it is not advised to move to boulder without a job. if you are single you might find an inexpensive place to live, but normally it is very pricey to live there. i dont know what your financial situation is but there are a couple of restaurants and a tea shop for sale in boulder. i think that would be a good way for you to go. there is a restaurant on pearl st for 285k that looks to be pretty good. it is a lease situation, but most that i find are. there is also a quiznos which i hate, but could easily be converted into a real poboy shop which im sure there are none of there. have your bread shipped in from liedenheimers!! poboys will probably be one of the things that i miss the most! other than that, have you thought about austin? it is a great town, and real estate is alot more affordable. we just want to get more altitude and less humidity!!! im sure you can relate. hope this was helpful!!

Shoot if you can cook Cajun, that would be a home run hitter in Boulder.

so youve been there quite awhile then micktooth!! im glad to hear that you absoutely love it! has the snow been much of a challenge? do your kids love it? im a little concerned about my 11 yr old in school. i know what its like to transfer to a good school from a school in mississippi. although our education system on the coast has greatly improved over the last 20 years, i dont think its nearly up to speed with schools in colorado. we are very excited, however that excitement is escorted with enormous fear for me!!

The snow is not too bad at all. It's not like you would think. The mountains get a ton of snow but down here, it is usually all gone within a few days. My kids are doing well. My 14yo son has made so many good friends. Everyone here is very accepting of new residents. So far we are happy with the Boulder Valley Schools. It's also nice to save that private school tuition! If you have specific questions, please let me know. You and your family will love it here!
