Several Longmont ?'s/advice needed
We are heading to Longmont this coming weekend.
What area(if any) is considered the less desireable area of town??
We will be looking at a house on S. Kimbark St.... anyone know if this is a good area?? I know that "good area" is a matter of perspective, but in general, any speculation/real advice would be great.
Any great steak places/mexican/italian we need to eat while there??
Attractions for small kids we should see/do??
I think that's it for now! We would very much appreciate any info!!
Thanks in advance...

You will know when you see it, if you think it's right for you. Years ago, a friend told me "you won't want to buy a house in a bad neighborhood". She made a very good point. She has moved many times and always bought a house right away and stayed in it.

Lots of them, all over town. You might try the index, too.

I can't think of any particular "attractions". Plenty of parks to take them to play when they get bored of house hunting.

Enjoy your trip.

It's not a steak place - but we love The Pumphouse.
Pumphouse Brewery & Restaurant
If the weather is nice, sitting outside is great.
What exactly is considered South Kimbark St. I'm not sure. I just know it as Kimbark. It's mainly in the older part of town. There is a mixture on Kimbark of businesses and homes. One of the best restaurants for breakfast is on Kimbark:
Luciles
I have a very dear friend who just opened up a photography studio on Kimbark just a few house down from there. A regular "home" is next door on one side of her and a radio station on the other. Actually, the parking lot for the Pumphouse backs up onto Kimbark.
As far as things to see - if you have time you aren't too far from Rocky Mountain National Park. Otherwise, Longmont has a great park system as already mentioned, bike trails that run through prairie dog towns, and along the St. Vrain River.
Parks home page, Community Development Department, City of Longmont
Or pop over to Boulder and let the kids run around and enjoy being outside on the Pearl St. Mall. There are a ton of restaurants from there.

That helps. That is a newer area. Right next to the new recreation center and there is a big medical facility there as well. It's a good location.
Schools - you will be either Burlington or Indian Peaks Elementary. We live on the southwest side of Longmont - west of Hover. My son went to Indian Peaks. We loved the school.
Either way you feed into Sunset Middle school - excellent school and then feed into one of the best High Schools in the state - Niwot High.
Overall, I would think it's a good location.

We love taking the kids to Sunflower farms in Longmont. I'm pretty sure they are open for the season now, but you should call to check. Lots of cute animals, tress swings, and lots of room to romp around.
I can't remember if we're allowed to link, but if you google sunflower farm longmont, it is the first result. Then click on Kid's Farmfest, and it will tell you all you need to know.

Lots of restaurants in Longmont! Good Mexican try Efrian's III or La Pandaria and more. Steaks at Outback or texass Roadhouse. Also Thai, Japaneese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Cambodian. Also Italian and hey lots more! If you take in the surrouning towns there are lots of good places to eat.
