Thanks TropicanaRose -good to know there are like minded people out there. We had a frustrating day today with the social security and driving licence departments but then we went out to eat a wonderful meal with great service, the sun was still shining and we thought how lucky we are to be here. Long may it continue!

Hi Katiana,

Luke is going to Centaurus. This is the third country he has schooled in and for us, although academia is important, being happy is more so. We had problems in Austria which we are trying to avoid here. My husband felt that of all the schools he visited, Centaurus staff were the most interested and concerned for Luke's welfare and wellbeing; he said it had a good feel to it and the kids he met were polite and friendly. In addition, he was very impressed by the headteacher, who I believe has only been with the school for a couple of years and also with the wide selection of courses - IB, AP and engineering. (I know other schools offer these too). We'll see how it goes.

Hi Frogandtoad,

I don't see why anyone would "blast" Bouldergranola. She's only commenting on her feelings about friendships, and that she doesn't have a lot in common with people outside her age group, which is quite normal at her age, whereby the original poster, VioLynn33, was picking fault with just about everything she'd seen in Boulder and at her age she should be a lot more mature and open minded.

Centaurus used to be the neighborhood school for our area, until Monarch was built. Almost everyone I know whose kids went there was happy with it. Hopefully, you/he will be too.

You're welcome! In addition to the kids of my acquaintance who went there b/c it was their neighborhood school years ago, one of my friends' kids transferred there last year from Monarch, and finally found happiness at a high school.

Good luck with everything. I know it is scary.
