Default Swimming in Boulder area

In the area, are there popular reservoirs (or lakes) that folks (mainly younger) hang out and swim at?

Also is there a pretty good club/bar scene in Boulder/Denver?

Thanks!

There's Boulder Reservoir, but can't say that it's mainly younger folks any more or less than other Boulder locales. It attracts the usual cross-section of Boulder folks.

Default Gross Reservoir get summer swimmers....

In the summer, folks drive up Flagstaff Rd into the mountains a few miles and swim in Gross Reservoir.

The club/music scene in Boulder/Denver is pretty good, definitely not bad. Denver has about 50+ live music events happening on your average night (other than Monday night). That's pretty good. Much of the scene is dominated by and revolves around college students.

Gross Reservoir is owned and operated by Denver Water. Fishing, boating, hiking, camping, and picknicking are allowed, but swimming is not. From Denver Water website:
Quote:
No contact with water is allowed on the reservoir. Swimming, wading, scuba diving or other water activities are not allowed on the reservoir.

There is no "rafting" in/on Boulder Creek... but you can go tubing or kayaking. There are a few stands where you can rent a tube.
The water is very cold but on a hot summer day you'll see hundreds of people sitting on the rocks with their feet in the water.
