Default Living near Louisville

In the next year or two I will likely be moving to the Louisville area. I'm single mid 30's, with 2.5/2/2 townhouse priced around $260k. Is there property (house/TH/Condo) available in the area for my price range? I would prefer somewhere that I could walk to some restaurants and pubs. Hopefully some sort of transit near by to get into the city for Avs games.

Yes several of 'em but stay away from the loud freight trains (i.e. the train tracks).

Try the ones in back of Kohls or up by the Rec Center. You could walk either to Old Town or restuarants such as the Outback Steakhouse (along McCaslin).

You didn't say where you are coming from, what line of work you do, and why you are specifically eyeing Louisville.

In my prior post "several of 'em" refers to condos and TownHome style residences.

The 3/2/2 TownHomes up by the Rec. Center IIRC were going for $200-215k range in 2004.

There are some townhouses on S. Boulder Rd. on the hillside. All areas are personal preference; I think the hillside is nicer than living on the "flats".

Hi all: I live in Waterloo, Ontario Canada, about an hour from Toronto and am looking at Naropa University for a 2nd Masters Degree. How far from Louisville is Boulder? If I don't have a car would I be able to commute fairly easily?
Also, I read some warnings about some problems with some of the condos in the area, will the real estate agents be honest? I will be making a major move in my life for at least 2 years and I dont want to get into a bad situation. I'm hearing, from the posts, that its a quiet community, which is great, I'm VERY INTO QUIET. Are there areas I should avoid. I'm in my 50's, a single woman and do not want to get in with a bunch of young kids who are just partying. I'd be open to a seniors or 'older' community too.
I appreciate any feedback anyone can give.
thanks

Its one town over to the east and IIRC you can take the DASH bus into Boulder. Maybe someone here can advise on the buses into Boulder.

If I ever came back to Louisville I would stay away from the railroad tracks. The freight train itself isn't a problem it's just the noisy horns they blow at night on approach to several of the crossings going through Olde Town section, esp. an issue if they are running extra or detouring trains during summer nites (when people keep windows open for cool air). Rent or buy in Louisville? There should be options for you. Again maybe someone here can help.
