Default Singles in Louisville area

I s Louisville a decent area for single 30+ professional folks? I understand the University is nearby but thats a little younger crowd. Or do single folks (not swinging) move closer to Denver or another community.

My opinion - Louisville isn't "social central". I would call it a bit sleepy. Others may agree or disagree.

I would say CU has insignificant bearing on the community.

I'd say most stay within Boulder city limits, Lodo area, or even parts of Superior (i.e. Horizons at Rock Creek). Again others may agree or disagree.

I agree that Louisville is a little "sleepy" and very family-oriented. If you are going to be working in Louisville, I'd try the above suggestions, also perhaps Broomfield. It's still a burb, but a little bigger and closer to Denver. Also has transportation to Denver.

For someone eyeing Louisville but seeking to rent (initally or long term) I'd have to go 100% with the Horizons at Rock Creek apartments in neighboring Superior. You will not get bored there. It's very young, co-ed, transient type of community. Even there you will be coming into Louisville and spending time in town for fun stuff (e.g. street faire). If you are looking to buy just be warned that there are soil, settling, and foundation concerns with many of the newer condos, homes in Superior (including Rock Creek section). If I were to buy a condo/townhome in Louisville I'd avoid any near the train tracks and too close to overhead high tension power lines. The Louisville condo/townhomes that I'd eye would be those up by the Rec. Center, in back of Kohls, and also the ones near Dutch Creek too.

Default Louisville for the Single Person

As a huge advocate of Louisville, I'm going to give a different perspective to the single person.

It may not be right for you. I say this with the utmost respect, but if I take a look at my life for the last year in this town, Louisville is geared for people with families. Outdoor street fairs, the quaintness of the downtown, the community park. I can't think of a more perfect area for a family, but a more difficult place to meet other singles (maybe single dads and moms )

I think about my single days living in Jacksonville Florida (completely different town, but a family town none the less) and while it was a great town back then, I hated living there because it was miserable for a single person.

If I were moving here, and I didn't know anybody, I would be hard pressed to say that Louisville/Lafayette/Superior is right for a young single person. I think about Denver's Cherry Creek area and think - that's where I'd want to be if I were in your shoes.

My 2 cents...

It could be a great choice for you, depending upon where you'll be working.
