My 22 year old daughter is moving into a condo off Canyon Blvd and 22nd Street to attend grad school.

Can you tell me anything about this area? Is it a decent area to live - or is it run down?

Is it somewhat safe? Are there any concerns?

Thank you.

Without seeing the actual condo, I can't make a very intelligent statement about her living quarters, but the area is safe. It is a decent area to live, probably better than "The Hill" for a grad student (The Hill having a lot of undergrads).

There have actually been a number of late night attacks in that area over the years- probably not more than other areas with a high concentration of students, but I wouldn't want my daughter walking around alone late at night over there.

Also, there is a halfway house over there. Everything from DUIs to more serious felonies. I'm not aware of any problems but it is something to be aware of. I don't know if this is still the case but there was no sign to indicate what it was. It was called the Copper Door apartments. My college friend did an internship there and as a native I'd never known it was there.
