Which cities have restored theatre palaces? If no restored historic palaces, for cities that tore most of theirs down, then modern theatres or cultural venues that are in the center city. Which part of the country has better preservation?

San Antonio has mostly historic cultural venues, really no need for the new ultra modern stuff, it has several beautiful venues. The Majestic, Empire, Aztec, Alameda, Lilia Crockrell, Scotish Rite, and the Municipal Auditorium are the biggest. The city also has historic Amphitheatres, the Arneson and Sunken Gardens.

Los Angeles has many historic theatres all over from downtown to Hollywood to Westwood and more. Many are from the golden age of Hollywood. Some are for film and some are now for live performance or shows. Some do both. Here is a sample of what is around.

Palace- 1911 (Downtown)

Orpheum Theatre- 1926 (Downtown)

The Los Angeles- 1931 (Downtown)

Fox (Mann Village) Westwood- 1931 (Westwood)

Wiltern Theatre- 1931 (Koreatown/MidWilshire)

El Capitan Theatre- 1926 (Hollywood) and the adjacent Masonic Hall, home to Jimmy Kimmel Live.
