My boyfriend and I are looking for a place to live in Boulder Co. We have two dogs. Slate is a two year old Siberian and Cash is a one year old Pit Bull. Almost EVERYONE has said that they won't take a pit bull at all of the rentals we have called, searched, emailed.

Please help us find a home!

Susannah and Kyle

i used to live in Denver, CO metro area, one of the first places to start the Breed Specific Legislation, and worked in Boulder, CO, also. I had a female pit bull and we lived outside of Denver, because pit bulls are banned there. I wouldn't think Boulder would be any different than Denver, which is only 25mi away. In fact the whole state of CO is whack, that's why I moved to Las Vegas...lol Good luck finding a home in Boulder. It's just a shame the discrimination you get from having a damn pit bull. I wouldn't have any other dog. No thanks to those yappy ass ankle biters. Why don't they have a ban on them in apartment/condo complexes for them barking all the time???? Blame the media on the bad rep of pit bulls for you not finding the home you want in Boulder, CO....

your best bet is to find a house with a yard.
I think it's a lot easier to find housing for a pit in Boulder. My bf and I were having the same problems when we decided to move out of Boulder. There's the Denver Pit Ban, so that was out of the question and all the apartments have a ban on pits.

We have a pitbull/daschund mix and what we ended up doing was just bringing her (she's the sweetest, most loving dog ever) with us to look at apartments and not telling management she was a pit (she has a pit face...but really really short legs and she's long).

I would like to buy a trailer in boulder, but I have a pit bull mix. Do any trailerparks take pits?

I would also like some help on this issue, If anyone has since found more information on this topic I would much appreciate more information. Because I have been searching for a apartment in Boulder that will allow pitbulls, and although there is no ban it seems that no apartments will allow them. It is extremely frustrating, again I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

You'll likely have to find a private landlord; most apartment complexes have weight and/or breed restrictions.

It might be worth contacting the Boulder Humane Society (303) 442-4030. They keep lists of pet friendly housing, and might have some leads for you.
