Default Stapleton to Boulder?

Is a daily commute from Stapleton to Boulder a viable option? Seems accessible by highway, but does the traffic make this unbearable?

It would be a lot of driving. My DD did commute from Louisville to near Stapleton for a semester one winter; doable, BUT.

I guess it depends upon where you are originally from. I don't think it would be too bad. You can take I-76 or I-70 to Hwy 36. This will take you up to Boulder. At rush hour, most of the traffic should be headed towards Denver.

I am coming from Chicago, so I know traffic. Mapquest says this is a 35 minute trip. Is that accurate assuming rush hour times, or does that approach an hour.

I would assume 35 minutes is non-rush-hour, which you could avoid if you wake up early. It is a straight-shot up I-270 and US-36 (aka Boulder Turnpike), but that's a heavily traveled road, no doubt about it.

I would say that 35min + or - is pretty close. I live near Boulder and work in Denver. It takes me about 35-40 min each way with the heavy flow of traffic going in my direction.

not awful- 35 is pretty accurate. Depends on if its truly Boulder or closer to Superior.. I used to do that drive from City Park area and the drive to Interlocken or Superior would be super fast, then getting into the town of boulder on foothills parkway seemed to take an extra 15-20 minutes. And, it can be a crawl at rush hour.

My office in Louisville overlooks Hwy-36. It does not look as if there is anything resembling 'against traffic' at rush hour. People in Boulder work in Denver; people in Denver work in Boulder. When my DD drove from near there, at times it took up to an hour.

The AB bus goes from Stapleton to downtown Boulder in 56 minutes every week day. You could shave off maybe 5 minutes of that time by driving yourself, but you'd lose an hour of possible reading/relaxing/napping time.
