Default Thanksgiving Volunteering...Where?

My wife and I don't have any family in CO and aren't going back east to visit ours so we figured we'd volunteer this Thanksgiving.
Any shelters/organizations looking for volunteers?

Thanks

Can't help you specifically but I just wanted to say that's very good of you to volunteer. I'm sure there are lots of shelters that could use the help- you could just google homeless or domestic abuse shelter in your area and make some phone calls.

My 9 year old daughter and I are volunteering this year with Joe Eberle and his wife. Here's the email he sent out:

Friends,

As most of you know, over the past 9 years, my wife and I have have organized our annual Thanksgiving meals program. The effort has steadily increased in popularity and reach and we will feed another 3,500 people again this year. In addition, we'll also send three or four truckloads of food to local organizations committed to feeding low-income families. This year we're continuing that expansion and with additional resources we are adopting 105 families for meals on Christmas.

This effort will operate in tandem with our Thanksgiving program, so we can continue to maximize our volunteers' time. In addition to the traditional Thanksgiving needs, we'll also be creating Christmas care packages to be delivered later in December. If you're interested in this new opportunity, please let us know. Again, thank for being a part of this important effort.
