Floyd offered Manny $40M guaranteed, but he gets to keep all of the PPV after the guarantee is paid. The low estimate for this fight is $100M in revenue, which would be a 60/40 split. The high estimate is suppose to be around $160M, which would give Manny $40M and Floyd $120M.

Anyone think this fight is really going to happen when you see numbers like that? A 60/40 split was going to be a hard sell for Manny, but a 3 to 1 split is never going to work. Sure $40M is the most he ever made, but he'd retire rather than let Floyd take advantage of him.
The only way this fight has a chance of being made is if one of them loses their next match, which would drop their stock and leverage power. So if Bradley beats Manny, then Manny would have to agree to whatever terms are offered. If Cotto beats Floyd, then Manny has the upper hand in negotiations. Not a likely scenario on either end, and Floyd will continue to price himself out of the fight because he just doesn't want to fight him.

I've been thinking about this 50-50 split that Pacman keeps insisting on in order for him to take this fight. I don't think it's fair to give equal billing to a fighter who has won 54 of 59 fights (Pacman) with a fighter who is unbeaten and of the caliber of Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather's unbeaten record cannot be ignored and IMO entitles him to a greater portion. He's right on this point. Were they BOTH undefeated, I can see a 50-50 split.

With so much money on the line, Pacman should concede this point, and get on with it. Floyd holds the superior position. Floyd is also the superior fighter and I can see why Pacman puts up these stupid barriers.

While I happen to agree with you, A_Lexus, at this point I also think that the 45-45 split that Arum was talking about with Jim Lampley with the winner getting the remaining 10% would be fair too. Even with a 60-40 split it would still be the biggest payday of Pacman's career by far, but I guess it's just a matter of pride...

Manny recently presented the following: 45% apiece and the winner takes the remaining 10%. Now, thats fair!

That's really the same as 50-50 isn't it? Pacman is saying, "even though I've won only 54 of 59 of my fights, I am deserving of equal billing with you even though you're undefeated." 45-45 says this. I don't like it.

I think Floyd should take the greater share because he's undefeated. There should be a mandatory rematch clause, with the winner of the first fight taking a greater share in the second fight.

In this particular case the winner should take the majority of the pot.. just like in all sports.. the winning team gets the bigger share of the championship money.. PERIOD.

If this was Floyd against a lesser known fighter then the draw would be mostly Floyd and therefore he would deserve a bigger share of the pot but in this case, Floyd is no bigger draw than Pacman and from the most recent fights, Pacman is the bigger draw.. So for go the pissing contest and winner takes the bigger share.

Technically, yes. But in reality, he lost that fight against Castillo.

In that case, Manny technically lost all three fights to Marquez
