Looks like Mayweather is going to duck Khan for a Maidana fight. I don't think Maidana has much chance again Mayweather and I'm sure that Mayweather's people know this well - very shrewd on their part.

In boxing style match-ups are like rock paper scissors. A rock has an advantage over the scissors but the paper can cover the rock. Mayweather has figured out that he is a scissors and he only lines up paper opponents for himself in the form for stand in front of you brawlers. Khan is not a brawler. Khan is slick with very fast hands and feet. At Mayweathers advanced age this style would have given him fits.

Thus the likely fight with Maidana - another stand in front of you brawler scissors vs paper.

Default Khan is undeserving and overrated

Khan is vastly overrated and a pompous, arrogant idiot. He is not entitled to a shot at Mayweather. He hasn't earned that right. In nearly 4 years, he's fought four fights, and lost two of them. He was KTFO by Danny Garcia, and beaten by Lamont Peterson. In his last two fights, he's fought mediocre fighters. In his last fight, Diaz put him down in the 4th. Before that he beat a badly faded, undisciplined, and often unmotivated Zab Judah. Kahn couldn't beat Floyd on Floyd's worst day. Kahn is young, but already he's fading badly. He's got some issues. Switched trainers. This is why his activity level has been low, and he's desperate for the big money fight with Floyd now, since Khan's skills are either diminishing or he's losing interest and focus.

Maybe Kahn should fight Broner or Maidana or Pacman, rather than thinking he's entitled to that ultimate pay day with Floyd before Floyd calls it quits. He needs to prove himself worthy, and he can't do this by being arrogant and running his mouth. I don't blame Floyd for blowing off this overrated idiot with the false sense of superiority.

It doesn't matter who Floyd picks as an opponent, he will be criticized. If he picks Pacman, then beats him, people will say Pacman was faded. If he picks Khan, people will say Khan was faded or not ready, and will say that Floyd was ducking Maidana and Pacman. If he picks Maidana then beats him, people will say Maidana was a safe pick and he was ducking Khan and Pacman. I don't blame Floyd for choosing who he wants to fight. Every fighter has a predictable style for Floyd. I enjoy every one of Floyd's fights. He IMO has earned the right to be called the best in his era. He has dominated.

Khan is not even in the conversation.

Khan is washed up, Maidana is still way over matched but I'd rather see him in there nonetheless.

I'm no fan of Khan and I don't think he earned a shot at Mayweatyer, but what Floyd did to him is classless and cowardly. Floyd is an overrated punk. Why tell Khan and Maidana that their fate lies in the votes of the fans only to disregard he outcome and hand pick another opponent. If he was a real man his poll would have included Manny, Danny Garcia, Lara, and Martinez. Instead he chooses a glass jawed washed up Khan or Maidana...who is in the brawler league of Guerrero and Ortiz.

Lol that's a shocking "take" A Mere Con got a taste of his own medicine from how he dealt with Devon Alexander. What goes around, comes around & karma's a b**ch.

Maidana has earned his shot now hopefully he makes the most of it. Most will only give him a puncher's chance and perhaps that's true, but he won't be intimidated and he won't back down.

Nice to see Floyd select Khan's leftovers in Maidana.

I really think Floyd chose Maidana to make a statement that Broner is not in his league and not the successor to his self appointed throne.

Could be a lot worse. For instance, it's better than going to the other side of the world to fight Mike Alvarado's leftovers...

Even worse would be if Manny would have "retired" to avoid stiff competition in their prime.

Sorry, but Floyd is the one who opened this "leftovers" discussion when he accused Manny of fighting his leftovers. he then went on to fight Mannys leftovers. At some point you are going to fight someone's former foe, it's inevitable. It's just ironic that once again he's speaking out of both sides of his mouth and being a hypocrite.

It begs the question why Khan or Maidana when there are more competitive opponents to fight. Especially if you want to call yourself the greatest P4P of all time while he fights yet another slow, plodding brawler.

What would be interesting is if you could prove what Manny's intentions were in that scenario. However, since I doubt that you are telepathic, you couldn't, thereby leaving your musings as opinion. Jaded opinion ≠ fact, sorry.

It's funny how Maidana would be competitive if he were fighting Manny.

However, when he fights Floyd he's just a "slow, plodding brawler". Yeah, you're one to talk about someone being a hypocrite. Either that OR you're finally seeing the light and admitting that Floyd>>>Manny.

Once again you insist on bringing Manny and his fights into an unrelated thread. Your hatred of him and bias of Mayweather is true to form. Keep making excuses for Floyd's behavior by steering the thread towards someone else.
