Sad news this morning while reading USA Today and there are several items from other news sources online, ESPN showed a little video just a little bit ago. Rubin "Hurricane" Carter has passed away at his home late last night. He was 76 years old.

As soon as he could qualify for Immigration approval to come to Canada, he left the USA.

I guess he didn't want to live in a country where he had served so many years in prison , after being falsely convicted. His lawyers were Canadian, and they worked for years to have him released, all for no payment.

In his life here in Canada, he was a role model for youth of all colours.

He died at his home here in Toronto.
