I am the consumate Pacquaio fan but this is HORRIBLE.

Bob Arum is seriously losing it/smoking something if he thinks this will sell well. Should only be on regular HBO but no way that's happening.

Not Pacquaio's fault as he's in a really crappy situation. However, I'd take Provodnikov, loss or no loss in this circumstance over Algieri.

Seriously dude.....

Can someone suggest who he should fight in November?

Mayweather won't fight him as noted by his endless excuses and bing owned by Haymon.

Khan can't fight him because he is owned by Haymon.

Thurman.............owned by Haymon.

Danny Garcia..........owned by Haymon.

Porter already has a fight coming up and he is owned by Haymon.

Broner....owned and protected by Haymon.

Matthysse..........owned by Haymon.

Despite Haymon owning all of these fighters none of them are fighting each other. Instead Floyd took a rematch with Marcos Palooka with two flat feet, wide loopy punches and no defense. This time around Floyd will likely plant his own ref and find a way to get an advantage.

Meanwhile, Mr. Juan Manroid Marquez is pricing himself out of a rematch because he really doesn't want one. Especially since everyone is on to him and his obvious PED usage. He got his lucky win and he will now run like a mouse.

Who does that leave as an opponent in November? All the Golden Boy fighters are locked down until the legal mess gets worked out between Oscar and Schaeffer.

Algieri isn't what fans want but it doesn't mean this is an easy fight for Pacman. Algieri proved he can jab, move, box and take a punch. He is going to be the taller, bigger guy in the ring come fight night, younger, and will box not brawl with his face out in front of him. Not a walk in the park.

Besides, the OP once claimed that Guerrero was a legit opponent because he was a champion. Well, Algieri is a champion at 140, so he is no less legit than Guerrero.

If Manny did take on Provodnikov after his loss the haters would still complain.

Agreed on the above regarding Algieri. Despite his crazy eye injury(and it was crazy), Algieri never seemed fazed and somehow managed to get in my mind a clear win against Provnikov after losing a 10-7 round.

And yes, about Haymon that is so frustrating. Still you have to wonder if Arum just wanted to keep the fight in house with 2 TR guys so he makes more money off this.

Either way, very disappointing turn of events for a guy that in my mind has consistently sought out the best competition available. Can't say that about certain other unbeaten pugilists.....

Al Haymon owns all those fighters and they're not fighting each other... That sucks... But is Bob Arum doing any better?

Seems like Arum is trying to make the fights but Haymon doesn't want any part of it. Haymon is the new Don King of boxing.

Yeah both Bob Arum and Haymon **** me off but there's two fundamental differences between the two as I see it:

Arum actually matches his opponents up against tough competition whereas Haymon usually throws his guys in with tomatoe cans. Case in point, the entire 8/9 card with the worst being Danny Garcia fighting a guy nobody's ever heard of, ranked #77 at Lightweight!!

This kind of crap is hurting boxing though.

He tried to get a fight with Khan but when the offer came through Khan's camp went quiet. That's because Haymon owns him and he refuses to do business with Arum. Floyd once criticized Manny for not choosing his own opponents and deferring to his promoter, Arum. Floyd claimed he is his own man and controls his own matches. We now know that isn't true. A couple of fights after his criticism of Manny he deferred to Al Haymon as his matchmaker. Fans need to understand the it is promoters and managers such as Arum, Haymon and others who are hurting the sport and preventing the best fights from taking place.
