dela hoya wins easily. Pac is to short, less reach and no power at 147.

Sugar Ray Robinson....probably the best Middleweight ever, fought in the glory days of boxing, held down by the mob until he could no longer be denied a title shot.

Charley Burley....boxing's best kept secret in the forties. Ducked by the above as well as many others because his style was frustrating and he wasn't a big draw; but known by astute fans as one of the best defensive fighters of all time.

Ali....In my opinion the greatest HW ever, because of a style that couldn't be duplicated (until now!) by the big guys. Also because he didn't fight from the ages of 26 to 29, a heavy's prime. We probably never saw him at his best.

Sugar Ray Robinson - easily the greatest ever. Inspired Ali, Ray Leonard.
Salvador Sanchez
Jack Johnson
Joe Louis
Roberto Duran
Archie Moore
Larry Holmes
Julio Cesar Chavez
Alexus Arguello
Aaron Pryor
Jake LaMotta
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pernell Whitaker
Mike Tyson

-------------------------------

Ali is missing from my list. I think during his prime and before exile, he fought overmatched opponents and looked good. The first real fighter he faced was Joe Frazier and a prime Joe Frazier beat him. I also don't like the clown aspect of this man. I do hold it against him that he fought the powerful George Foreman in Zaire under suspect conditions. I've watched that fight many times, and I swear, those ropes were not tightened to standard and their looseness helped Ali avoid and absorb blows that arguably might've felled him. This claim is boistered by the fact that Ali didn't give Foreman a rematch, and more than anyone, was happy when George lost to Jimmy Young. Later Ali was a less effective, less conditioned version of his former self. Larry Holmes was far more impressive as a fighter than Ali. Holmes faced tougher opposition, was more easily matched against some tough opponents and he always found a way to win, even if it meant picking himself off the canvas to do so.

Ray Leonard was himself a great fighter, except it bothered me greatly that he clowned with Duran in their second fight. Running, teasing, clowning around. It was a shameful display of unsportsmanship and instantly dropped him from my list of greats. Exceptional fighter though, but when he fought Duran the first time in a real fight...he lost.
