Hello, I'm a college student from New England, I was thinking of moving to Montana for the summer and work at Big Sky. I've seen pictures and the place looks amazing. I was just wondering if anyone can fill me in on the area and what to expect from the area ie. weather, people and wildlife.

Thanks

NH,

It is beautiful around Bozeman/Big Sky, but is also very expensive when it comes to housing. You might be able to get into a rental during the summer if you're able to land a job. You'd just have to keep your eyes on the classifieds when summer gets a little closer.
Keep in mind that it's about an hour's drive from Bozeman to Big Sky, so you'd have to factor that into your plans too.
Here are some area links for you to check out to help you get started on your research:

Thanks for the links, yeah I was thinking big sky resort, I know someone from my town that went there and he worked for the summer season, he said it was great I'm hoping to do the same thing, I just can't take New England right now, it's beautiful and all but its time to expand my horizons.

Wherever you find employment, find out if they pay for mileage. It may be worth the drive to live in Bozeman or Belgrade. There are a lot of people that commute in groups also. Big Sky gets a lot of snow that remains throughout the spring. So make sure to bring lots of layers to wear! Good Luck and enjoy the scenery.

I have three really good friends that work up there. Two of them are executive chefs, and one works in retail. Lots of businesses up there rely a lot on international workers, so they really seek out native English speakers for front line customer service and waitstaff. Big Sky has dorms for employees. The only problem is that you have to go to town (Bozeman or Belgrade) like once a month to buy toiletries because they're too expensive on the hill. Also, you can't really afford the bars & restaurants up there very often on your salary, so you'll have to get together with other employees and get a case of beer shen someone is going to town.
