Just make sure if you settle on Bozeman to check the weather by calling 511 when you leave in the winter. Like I mentioned, it doesn't get closed very often but it's better safe than sorry. I drove back on forth on it off and on for a seven year period and I only remember white-knuckling it about three times.

I wanted to re-post this as we are now looking at rentals through management companys and newspaper ads.

If anyone knows of any rentals we may have overlooked, please shoot a direct message.

Thanks!

Original Post:

Thanks for all the replies to my previous questions regarding our pending relocation.

We have settled on the Bozeman area and we are well within a 1 year timeframe for the relocation. Likely July-Sep 2011 for the move.

We are going to be looking for a rental house that would allow a dog, have a 2 car garage, 2 bedroom minimum, 3 bedroom optimum, no more than 25-30 miles from Montana State University, and from $1000 to $1600/month on a 1 year contract.

Classified are generally worthless as the quality rentals usually move by word of mouth.

Please PM me if you have a line on a property or a listing company.

Our research has been extensive and I really appreciate all the info we have received on here (including private messages).

We will make a nice fit with Bozeman.

It is done! Wooot!

Thanks for all the input. Now to spend the next 12 months with the flexibility to build, buy, etc., etc.

It is nice to have this milestone under our belt. Tomorrow we get plates reading "MT-6". Nice. Gallatin County Fair and some BBQ and we will be right at home.

Beautiful State and proud to be a resident!

"GeoTana".

I'd recommend the Belgrade area. They seriously overbuilt overpriced condos there about five years ago and now many of the owners are underwater on their mortgages so if they have to move they are renting instead of selling at a loss. Good luck! Bozeman is a great place.

You mean Gallatin Gateway?
Ah, I see. You went up the canyon for a hike. Well done.

Oooops, yep, I meant "Gateway". Hit Ennis Lake yesterday as well as Three Forks and several of the river access areas. Beautiful!

Gonna have to hike to the "M" in the next couple days as well.
