That is the high school.

Well, the peer tutors come in, it is a scheduled class for them. And they work under the direction of the Sped teacher. My daughter just did regular school activities. Going to the store, shopping for ingredients for tacos, then, the next day they made tacos. Stuff like that. Helping kids use their IPad for communication. She did the rotation for a semester. She loved it.

My daughter is not involved with the SPED program, but I moved here last year and had trouble finding the infomration online that I was looking for. I would suggest calling the schools directly. I found everyone incredible helpful to talk with and when I came out on one of my house-hunting trips, I made an appointment with the school for a tour with some students and met with a guidance counselor. It was very helpful to me and I was able to get all the info I needed and took home lots of answers and pictures in addition to all the paperwork I needed making the transition easier for the whole family!

Thanks Chelliesmom, I will be making a trip out there beforehand once the position solidifies. The plan on each move has always been scouring the internet first, searching for parental reviews and information. The lastly talking directly to the people at the schools. School officials and employees can tell you whatever you want to hear but parents don't lie.

We left Montana solely because of the poor special education and medical services related to autism. if you are okay with driving hours away often to procure services and enjoy researching laws and advocating constantly for your kid, I highly recommend moving to Bozeman with kids on the spectrum. We tried both public and private school there and left a year ago and are still trying to get our kids caught up. I suppose the schools could have improved drastically in a year, but I doubt it.

Sped directer's name is Chad Berg.

Good luck.

BenHart: My son has Aspergers syndrome too. We have struggled for years in Hawaii to get him through school here. Tried public, charter and private schools. Inclusion doesn't always work for these kids. I'm interested to hear what you have discovered. We are in what may/may not be my boy's senior year in high school. College is a new challenge so I'm trying to research WUE schools that offer reduced tuition to western state students.
