Considering seriously a move there. I've visited and am familiar with the climate and such. My question is, is the cost of living significantly higher for a "Non-Homeowner" than The South? I've looked on the 'Cost of Living Calculators' and the only concerning higher expense it shows is for home ownership. I hear a lot how expensive the city is, but looking at apartments, the rent and utility fees seem on par with, or only slightly higher than, where I am from. So outside of the obvious fuel cost difference, what other significant costs differ?

- Much Thanks

It is one of those your mileage may vary deals. Generally the same money goes much farther in Midwest or South than in Montana. If you live with frugality of a long time Montanan prepared to weather droughth and harsh winters, you will be just fine.
