We are planning a Florida beach wedding for November and need some ideas on great places. We would like to stay in the cocoa beach, port canaveral area as we are leaving on a cruise the next day from Port Canaveral. Also we will be taking the kids to Disney a few days before the wedding then heading to the coast for wedding. I am looking for a more secluded "locals only" beach that isn't overrun by tourists and beachgoers. I found one like this from a site called Weddings by Joanie. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also any local restaurants to have dinner afterwards. Only about 10 people going including bride/groom and kids.

Thanks from MI

Watch where you choose because you have to pull a permit in some areas to be able to have a 'beach wedding'.

Not a big problem -- Your best bet might be to schedule a hotel and conduct the wedding on their beach; optionally, if you know someone who lives in a condo, you get a little more secluded beach.
I've conducted about a half-dozen beach weddings and except for the large public beaches, there is always room ... and the wedding is always memorable because of the people themselves, not the sand, chairs or gazebo. Since you are coming from a distance and seem to have a pretty full schedule planned, you might want to find a local wedding planner to set things up (depending, of course, on what YOU want). Best of luck

Check out the Pelican Beach Club House in Satellite Beach. Price seems reasonable for a small wedding. Lots of locals get married here.
