I could count the number of "rude" I've come across living here on one hand. As I've admitted before, Melbourne may be nice to visit and come back to once in a while, but any longer than a day and it still disgusts me. It's gotten better but I couldn't be happier to have left. My thoughts about the people who continue to defend Melbourne and its lifestyle after I've tried meeting in the middle, is that they are purely delusional.
I think most people realize it's a big world out there, and some places are better than others depending on your interests.

Did you ditch Lauderdale already?

You will have to pay your own internet in most apartments. Some do furnish basic cable so you only have to pay the internet part.

High schools in the area are in the top 10 or so of the state. From Melbourne Beach will probably go to HS in Melbourne or possibly Satellite Beach depending on where on the beach you live. Check out their websites to learn about them.

That is so laughable. Did you happen to notice one of the best Art Festivals in the state/maybe even the United States (actually rated # 37 in the nation )happening in Downtown Melbourne this weekend?

I honestly think Melbourne is just plain dirty and disgusting. It's funny the differences in preference people have I guess. Although I may consider buying a condo on the beach to visit every now and then since I do have family in Melbourne. And I did visit the beach last night which was beautiful considering how peaceful and quiet it was compared to south Florida. But I'd still take south Florida any day. It's mainly the culture and people that ruin it for me.

You couldn't pay me to live anywhere south of Jupiter. Different things for different people

If you want to talk about disgusting, let's talk about south Florida traffic and superficiality

Lol I'd rather not get into that discussion. There's plenty of that in the Miami/fort Lauderdale forums. Bottom line is that superficiality is just a word created by underachievers who find a need to point fingers for their misfortune. I personally find the super conservatism of anywhere north of Jupiter to be distasteful and a significant lack of life.
