Default Kennedy Space Center

Just an FYI about a tour starting Nov 1 that will take tourists into the VAB building. You do have to pay usual admission and the tour is $25. Years ago(1982 for sure) it used to be part of the regular tour that was only $8.99 for years and years until they started charging admission to get into the Center. It was really cool when we were there. If you have never been inside it is worth the trip. If I had a season pass I think I would consider going in to see it now. We went yesterday for the free day for county residents and enjoyed the place as much as we did when we used to go every other week back in the early 80s.
They also have the Star Trek exhibits and Live show there now, too.

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't seen the inside of the VAB since I was too little to appreciate it.

CCAFS is running free tours of the historic launch pads, including the lighthouse. It covers much of the same area as the paid KSC tour but doesn't cost anything. Details here:

Now that is a place I have never been. Thanks. Will have to check it out. Are the free tours for a limited time or is that something they offer all the time?

I think they're permanent, provided the security situation doesn't change.

Thanks jdoty! I have seen the inside of the VAB quite a few times, but not in a while though. I also have not seen the old launch sites at the Cape in so long, so I am going to go check that one out. I love that old history. My father was at Nasa for all the unmaned and maned space flights all the way up to the Challenger explosion. He retired from Nasa and finished his career out with Harris.
