I have a possible job opportunity up there. I've done some researching around here, and I hear that Cocoa Beach, Merrit Island, Viera, and West Melbourne are nice areas. I am curious though if there are any rural areas that are close to the base? I'm interested in buying some land but I don't want to be too far from the base either. I would like to be about 45 mins from it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yep, there are plenty of rural areas nearby. Malabar and Grant-Valkaria on the south end of Brevard County are typically 5+ acre lots, with bigger plats available. I'm not as familiar with the north end of the county, but the area between Cocoa and Titusville is very rural, as is the area just north of Titusville.

Thanks! I think I'll be focusing in the Titus area as well as between there and Cocoa. I want some land (hunting ops) but I dont want to be too far from work either.

Check out Mims, which is just north of Titusville. It has some services nearby (Publix, Walgreens, etc) which is nice but is largely rural and convenient to the AFS via either US1 or I-95 as they run parallel a couple of miles apart there.
