Our family may be moving to Brevard County. We have children in elementary school. How are the schools on Satellite Beach/Indiatlantic/Indian Harbor? Job is in hand. Just need to decide if we can make it work. Only want to live within walking or biking to beach.

Just curious if you got any info or made the choice to move. Our family is looking at the same possibility and I'm trying to gather as much info as possible without seeing the area. Thanks for any information you may have!

Satellite Beach and Indialantic are great communities! The "beachside" schools (Satellite Beach, Indialantic, Melbourne Beach, Cocoa Beach and Indian Harbour Beach) at all levels (elementary through high school) are among the very best in Brevard County, which is ranked #6 in the state out of 67 counties. Melbourne Beach doesn't have any public schools and kids there attend neighboring Indialantic schools. Indian Harbour Beach students past elementary move onto neighboring Satellite Beach schools for middle/high school. Most Indialantic students head to Satellite Beach HS though some are zoned for Melbourne HS, however a waiver to attend Satellite Beach HS wouldn't be difficult as SBHS is not overcrowded.

Melbourne Beach has an elementary school- Gemini- but the high school for them and Indialantic is Mel High but could choose Satellite as it is not frozen. For mid school they go to Hoover in Indialantic.
