Default Daytona Beach in early December

Hi all! Bringing my family to Daytona Beach end of November into early December... wondering if the water temperature will be warm enough to swim, considering we'll be coming from cold Wisconsin? Also, is it usually pretty quiet in that area at that time of year? I have 4 young kids soo quiet would be nice

Are you staying on the beach? If so try to get a hotel on the no drive zone or drive to a no drive on the beach zone. Depending on whether cold fronts make it to Florida the water should be fine for Northerners to play in. We usually hit the beach sometime on Christmas Day every year, but we live about an hour and a half South of Daytona Beach.

Usually pretty quiet then.

One of my favorite things to do up there is to drive South of Daytona on A!A and go to Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Park . We usually go to the last access afterwards and drive down on the beach that far South on A1A. Depending on how young the kids are they will get a kick out of seeing and walking to the top of the lighthouse. The beach usually is a lot less crowded and usually just you and the surfers are there during that time of year. There are more sharks at the inlet so maybe just a stop and see and pick up shells for the kids if it scares you.

Daytona isn't in Brevard Co. Your question would be better posted on the general Florida forum.

Here's a little secret about central East Coast water temps. Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach surf temps will stay about the same through the warm months but come cooling air temps in the fall, the surf temp in the area north of the Cape cools far more than south of the Cape. During the cold months Daytona will usually be about 10 degrees colder than Cocoa Beach. Surfers at Ponce are needing a wetsuit on plenty of winter days that the CB boys are skinning it.

The weather in Florida is unpredictable but usually around that time it's the best weather. Not too hot. It should be around the 70's and the lowest it could get is 50 degrees. You should still be able to go the beach but it might get a little chilly at night. You should be able to enjoy it around that time though.

Too cold for me i don't go to the beach if it is below 90 outside but then again i was born and raised in Florida. So you might have a different experience then me. Yes Daytona seems to always be cooler then the other beaches.
