This link was posted on another board and thought it should be shared in Brevard, too since so many say how dangerous Palm Bay and Cocoa are. No cities in Brevard made the list.

Default Plus for Palm Bay! Cocoa... not so much.

Crime in Palm Bay has been steadily decreasing since the new millennium.
Crime in Cocoa, not so much — it's still bad although off its peak of five years ago.

Sadly, City Data reports crime rates in Cocoa that are even worse than Miami Beach, Orlando, etc. So why isn't it on the list?

Reading the fine print in the 20 Worst Report, "Only cities with populations of 20,000 or higher included in the FBI UCR were considered for our rankings." Cocoa's population is only 17,500+/-.

Couldn't agree more!
In most cities, crime is concentrated in certain neighborhoods. Stay out of those neighborhoods and the risk diminish greatly. Just be smart and hope fate is on your side to avoid random victimization.

This silly listing of most large cities in Florida and elsewhere is nothing, but, a promotional piece for HomeSecurityShield who sells wireless home security systems.
