I am moving to Melbourne in the next month or two , but I have yet to visit the city or any of its outlying communities. Is there stuff to do i.e movie theatres, bowling etc etc, Is it mostly older people living there? Any recommendations on living situations as far as the most desirable places to live in Melbourne or cities nearby? Any help would be fantastic as this is all going to be very foreign to me.. I already have a job lined up so I am not interested in any job market conversation...just a little taste of what its gonna be like and what to expect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

I live in Palm Bay which is near Melbourne. It's kind of difficult to tell you what might interest you since I don't know if your age group, what you like to do or if you have a family / children. The area in general is very nice. For the most part people keep their homes and yards clean, but like any place, there are those that don't. There is a big mix of people from all ages and areas of the country. We have bowling, movie theaters, a nice larger theater at the local college that hosts some nice shows. We don't have a huge stadium type place or civic center you would have to go to Orlando / Kissimmee for that. There is also a wide variety of living arrangement from apartments, condos and homes.

It just depends on what you are looking for, where you job is and what you like to do.

melbourne is nice. they have a mall and a lot of regular retail stores on new haven blvd. they have an artsy area with unique shops and restaurants near the river also on new haven going east. if you want newer homes (although more expensive) go slightly north to viera. if you want quaint and quiet, go south to sebastian. personally, i would not move to palm bay but some people are happy there.
