Banana River Square is a retail center located in the northwest quadrant of the intersection of North Atlantic Avenue and South Banana River Boulevard in the city of Cocoa Beach in Brevard County, Florida. It is anchored by a supermarket, Publix #107.

Publix #107, 2067 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931-3312
Publix #107 is planned to expand into the former Family Dollar #4357, 2063 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931-3312. The expansion would include the relocation of the pharmacy department and the addition of a pharmacy drive thru. I do not know if a Publix Liquor store could be included in the expansion.

I have also heard speculation of a complete rebuild which would involve Publix #107 closing, it being razed, and a new store built onsite.

RadioShack #8836, 2003 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931-3302
Electronics retailer RadioShack may be in the process of closing its remaining locations. Several stores nationwide are having clearance and store closing sales. Is RadoShack #8836 in danger of closing?

At this point, RadioShack is over. All stores including RadioShack #8836 will likely close or become Sprint stores only.

RadioShack #8836 made the list of RadioShack stores that are closing or have closed resulting from the latest bankruptcy.

Thanks for the list. Sad to see another memory of my younger years gone forever. I loved my Realistic Wilkie talkies growing up. My dad belonged to the battery club and remember getting free ones every so often, that powered my toys.

I assume the timing of the start is to coincide with the Winn Dixie rebuild completing.

Publix has been tearing down the old, making their stores a larger part of the shopping centers they are in and making the shopping centers more up to date for all tenants in many towns. It is a good thing and Cocoa Beach will probably get one of the really cool deli areas with more choices than cold cuts and chicken. Maybe similar to the one in Viera which can almost be a destination to eat a quick lunch inside the store. They have islands of Chinese, Hispanic, and American food and hot sandwiches in the deli. They also have a coffee and donut shop where you can sit and eat too. This would be great in Cocoa Beach for the tourists, too.

Publix #107's improvements, which will accumulate into a replacement store, has been in the works for awhile.

Winn-Dixie #2325, Canaveral Plaza, 100 Canaveral Plaza Boulevard, Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931-3520, sustained damage from Hurricane Matthew in 2016. Winn-Dixie's parent company, Southeastern Grocers, is in the process of closing 23 BI-LO, Harvey's Supermarkets, and Winn-Dixie stores.

Six stores in Florida are presently closed for rebuilds. Two stores in Florida will close soon for remodels (rebuilds). Publix #107 is among two other stores in Florida yet to close for remodels (rebuilds).

Three stores chain-wide, two in Florida and one in South Carolina, are staying open while their replacement stores are being built.
