ive read the tibetan book of the dead....though i didn't know what most of the words such as "Nyingma" would mean and would have had to search it in the glossary ...i did alot of searching in the glossary ...but i liked it...and i agree with buddhist teachings ...but im technically not really a practicing buddhist

Sorry, I'm not actually making light of any of these. I've been practicing two forms of meditation for as long as I can remember. One starts with Christian contemplative prayer, and leads to a certain place. The other, a form of Buddhist meditation, takes me to the very same place.

As a wanna be Christian mystic ( too many cares of this world ), I'm curious about your experience with Buddist meditation. Do you concern yourself with discernment of spirits, as is generally part of contemplative prayer. Do Buddists avail themselves of spiritual direction?
