As I am recovering from 2 broken ribs I was resting in bed this afternoon when my bed shook. It shook enough to make my dogs sit up and take notice. Even the TV on my rather heavy tall dresser was weaving back and forth! Did anyone else feel the tremors.

Apparently there was an earthquake in Ottawa that caused this.

I just heard about it, I felt nothing on Long Island.

I heard it was a 5.0-5.5 so it wasn't a mega earthquake but it wasn't really weak either.

Wow! Detroit too? I'll have to call home this evening and see if my dad felt it. Last time Detroit felt anything from an earthquake was in 1984, and it was so minor that few people even noticed it.

Supposedly it hit us at 143PM. I know for a fact that at that time I was driving east on Sheridan Dr in Tonawanda, roughly between Colvin and Parker. I didn't feel a thing. Others I've corresponded with on sites similar to this one, who were in approximately the same area, said they felt it. Could it be that because I was driving I didn't feel it? Maybe it felt as if a big truck was going by and that's why I thought nothing of it?

In any case, yes, it seems many in here did feel something.
