Hello Everyone -
I'm coming into town from Rochester for the Roger Waters show in October at HSBC arena. It's part of my wifes birthday present, so I'm looking for a nice place to stay downtown, not worried about how much I have to spend, either just off the Metro rail line or within walking distance from HSBC. Also, my wife is a vegetarian - any restaurant recommendations would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Classy place downtown is a small hotel called The Mansion on Delaware. Look it up. Sounds like what you'd be looking for. (Butler, concierge, etc.... and some specials)

Nice! I just looked it up, and it's exactly what I had pictured. Thanks for the quick response. Two blocks from the train is perfect. Now for a restaurant. I know most places have vegetarian/vegan options, but where would you recommend taking your significant other for their birthday?

I would suggest arranging alternate transportation to HSBC. Take a cab or talk to the concierge at the Mansion. They are reknowned for going above and beyond. You don't want to walk to main st and to the rail. The closer you get to Main the neighborhood deteriorates exponentially. It is longer than 2 blocks from the train. As far as dining once again let the hotel make arrangements for you. They will really handle it all for you.

Glad you liked my suggestion.

Use the concierge -- have them get you the cab, suggest the dinner, etc. That is what you pay for. Enjoy!
