Default Input on Orchard Park

My husband and I are looking to move to the Buffalo area with our two young children. We really like the Orchard park area but don't know much about the town other than driving through it. I've read threads on this site discussing the deteriorating school system, particularly for Special Education, within the past few years. Has that improved at all? A good school system and friendly community to all needs is important to us. We also like the Amherst/Williamsville area but, as others have posted, the issues with flooding and sinking foundations are intimidating.

Thanks for any help and advice.

I personally can't say how they are with special needs/special education children but OP schools are consistently ranked among the best in WNY.

Default Wny

I can tell you, that as a long standing resident of WNY it is a nice area to raise a family in providing you do not have any children with special needs. I grew up in Boston, Ny and went to the Hamburg Central School district. It was a great district. NOT frontier Central but Hamburg Central. I then grew up and started my own family and currently life in the small area of DEPEW, NY it is a great area. but only the small part of it where I reside. Which is the French/Borden road area. The schools are fantastic. but the special ed is terrible. Williamsville/Amherst not a good area anymore you have a lot of different cultures going on over there and fighting going on between these cultures with people lighting up signs in their yards, ec. I would do the Southtowns. The best of luck to you and your family!!!!

Just because one idiot puts a sign in his yard doesn't meant he whole town is a war zone.
