I am trying to get info on an abandoned property. I am trying to find out who holds the mortgage and would like to check on the posiblity of buying it before it goes into forclosure. Any tips or advise from the savy investors out there?

Where is ti? Are you local? Go to the town hall and ask the owner. You may not get the bank, but they may have that at county hall. OTOH, so many banks resell paper on a property, you never know. OR Ask a realtor. They have access people don't

The erie county real property website Real Property Information

will show you the name and address of the owner of the property. Hope that helps.
