As far as South Buffalo is concerned the nicer areas are mainly to the west & south of Caz Park ..... once you get east of the park its gets sketchy pretty quick.

A few complexes here are 3BR, but most of them are probably not families. I would check out Windsong, which is Willamsville and have 3BR. There is a fairly new complex on Lake in Lancaster which has 3BR. Better options here are getting a 3BR duplex or flat. Many older homes are 3/3 (3 BR up/3 BR down) and also duplexes.

Have you considered putting in an ad in a local paper (like the Bee papers) for "Military family seeks 3-4 BR rental by (date) in ____ school districts for ___ (time)." This area has many military or pro-military people who might see the term military and think you are safer than other tenants... I know the anti-military on the board will slam for that, but I know my neighbor ( a career military guy, now in his 60s) would rent to a military family in a heartbeat over a non-military.

Didn't even know there was an anti-armed service contingency on this board. That is disappointing if true.(as I look at my fathers military burial flag, framed and sitting in front of my desk as I type this...)
Windsong is nice, but quite pricey. I had considered a 1br there. A 3br will run approx $1600/mo. and that is with no garage I believe.

I find there are people who are younger than we are [ we grew up in the Vietnam era and many friends never came back] don't really "get it" about the reason to be indebted to the military families. ... were I a landlord, I'd rent to a military family first.

I just said Windsong as I know it has 3BRs
