I was born in Chautauqua county, we are planning a move back there late summer. I am currently web surfing for houses, along with asking my family there for tips on real estate. We drive truck/rather hubby does, I am somewhat retired from trucking (won't completely admit to it yet, due to Diesel addiction)

My nephew and his family recently moved back here to IA from Buffalo, my sister lived in Tonowanda, I have another sister still lives there. Drugs are everywhere. We live in the middle of a cornfield here in ne IA, this is one of the Meth capitals of the US. The reply to the Chautauqua area is correct, iy is very beautiful there. I had to go to CA for 20 yrs , stop in NV and UT and finally here in IA to really appreciate that area.

By the way I am a newbie here.

Joni

Not sure how long you've been away from Eden but it's changed a lot. The dairy farms are huge now and they really stink. Feasley Farm is massive nowright in the center of town and really stinks. Lots of illegal farm laborers live here now with the problems that come with it like crime. The country air is anything but fresh. Sorry for the bad news.

I live in West seneca (east ). West Seneca is split in west and East. I looked into it before I moved and East is better. I can give you a little insight about the schools. I have been involved in District meetings with all of the elementary schools in west seneca and Northwood by far is one of the best. I have 1 of my kids in there and I absoutely love it. They have a lot more programs to offer to kids and families that have learning disabilities. Very friendly staff and parents are welcome to come in and help in class in a comfortable atmosphere. We have experienced teachers along with teachers that have been there for 3 to 4 years. Enjoyable atmosphere to learn in. It has grades k-6 all in one school. Older kids help out the younger kids in kindergarten and are called "shining stars". West seneca is one of largest school districts around along with Orchard park. I hope I could help

I would stick with West Senece. I lived there for a while and the area was really nice. All the other areas posted are quite far from the airport. West Seneca is a good school district as well. I would really recommend this area if you were thinking more about school and location, rather than price.

West Seneca taxes are sky high. Schools are not as good as what is being portrayed by the real estate agents. Lots of problems in both West Seneca East and West. Do a google. Private schools are the way to go if you can afford it. Many school teachers in West Seneca send their own children to private schools. Ask them if their own kids go to the schools they teach in. Chances are they don't. They can afford private schools as most of them make more than doctors do without the liability insurance I have to pay. $80K a year teachers are the norm and note that this is a part time job with Summers off and all the holidays your kids get. The real wage figure is much higher with benefits. It's sickening to pay these teacher wages in an area as economically depressed as western ny.

You are crazy to relocate back to this area in my opinion. Anywhere is better than here.
