If you wanted to live in downtown Buffalo, you could catch the rail to S. Campus station and a 48, 49 or a 30 bus out to Daeman. I never looked for parking there; must be well hidden..... the area is very developed. In any case, a Metro Pass is about $65/month, a lot cheaper than gas -- as many rides as you want.
Where would you want to live downtown?

Any idea what the student population is at Daemen college? I've heard about it a lot recently.

OK... how on earth do you dress for the weather? I love the campus, but I am so cold! I guess I really am clueless about dressing for the cold weather. Its a big change for me.
I'minformed2, i think the student population in about 2,000 for undergraduates. Its really small. What have you heard about the campus?

Where are you from? Are you here already?? Go on the NOAA website and look up zip code 14226 for weather. We are not much colder than anywhere else.
Standard winter gear for really cold weather? Parka, scarf, hat or earmuffs, gloves. If you like down, get a down parka - hooded is always good... I assume as a college student, you are probably wearing jeans or the like. I live in jeans and turtlenecks -- and sweatshirts or sweater over ( if really cold) -- and tend to buy coats from LLBean or comprable vendors and have for years. Flat boots are better than heels for snow and ice. Otherwise, most people wear sneakers; I ride, so my riding boots are my "dress" boots -- knee high under a skirt. If you have a car, then people don't dress even that warm. No joke; some people wear shorts in winter. You come here, you become hardy (personally, I think that is a bit much).
Key idea: LAYER. Turtleneck with a sweater over. Or long sleeve silks unter a tops. Or a warm shirt (flannel, chamois) over a light top. If you are freezing, then wear tights under pants. Socks can go over tights..... You will get used to it.
Today I had on a jacket w/a liner over a tee shirt and a jeans shirt and jeans. No boots. Went trucking around all the malls doing shopping for Christmas. No gloves, no scarve, no hat. If I was snow shoveling, I'd have had on my parka instead.

You won't be cold if you learn to layer and wear boots and a hat, scarf and gloves. Today it was warm enough for me to shovel wearing a light jacket over a heavy sweater. I had gloves on and sneakers ( only wear boots when I really need to). It is gotgeous and sunny here; we have amybe 8" max. Only drifts are higher.... Without the wind, the snow is insulating. This is one of the loveliest places in the world when winter is here. You are at daeman; go to Williamsville to Glen Park and really see winter beauty of the creek and the falls there and the snow in it... go on both sides of the road. -- it is close by; look for Creekview Restaurant - that overlooks it; the better part of the park is across the street and back a road or so.

2blessed...I've heard that Daemen is a great school for pysicians and pysician assistants, and its becoming a very popular choice for many recent HS grads here in the Rochester area. I guess soccer is their biggest sport; and in WNY..soccer is huge.

The Med School is at SUNY Buffalo. I don't think Daeman has one...
